Inglorious Basterds

Having found no more constructive way to spend my bank holiday, I opted to go and see this today! And I'm glad I did- I've been a Quentin Tarantino fan since I saw 'Pulp Fiction' and while this doesn't quite scale those heights its still well worth a watch.

The whole thing completely does away with historical accuracy, it's more of a ' war fantasy' than a conventional war film. But it is richly entertaining, as the Basterds make their way from America to Nazi-occupied France to rid the world of Hitler and his armies and get into a hell of a lot of trouble along the way.......

It all makes for quite an engrossing ( if long) film, though, and there's enough suspense, intrigue and plain gore to keep most people interested provided you can withstand Brad Pitt's patronising US hillbilly accent for that long!

I'm not too sure if I want to see it or not after hearing about the scalphunting and gore     Christoph Waltz is supposed to steal the film...one minute he's menacing and the next he has people laughing! Did you think he was good Morphy? How was Eli Roth too?
Emperor Morphetine

If you can stomach gore its worth a watch, and Christoph Waltz is really good- he does go from menace to comedy at the drop of a hat. Eli Roth was OK, he didn't really get too much to tax him performance wise.

sounds cool .....I'll put it down on my ever increasing list of films to see
Emperor Morphetine

Oh yeah, I recommend it- Tarantino's best in a while I think.

Going off all the praise Waltz has had from critics, he'll be a serious contender for an Oscar. It'll be worth him winning just to see if the film's title gets bleeped out

There's already a ban on saying the last part before the watershed!

Emperor Morphetine

Yup, nuts to all the PC rubbish I say, for the most part anyway.

What happened to freedom of expression/speech, is what I'd like to know.
