I have just joined this forum as it gives loads of info with great reviews on new and recent horror flicks.............i thoroughly rec. i am Scorpio on there to if you have a look

not a patch on this site though - it is too large, too impersonal..............i like the fact that we get to know eachother (on there it is far too large) - but it is great for getting reviews

Thanks....I just had a quick look there mate it looks very good...I'll check it out better later...I like checking out other forums its a good way of perhaps finding out better ways that we can do things here on FF or also stuff to stay clear from too

i dont think so - it hink that it has been shelved in response to the bigger budget flick which is going to be made

I think Luc said before that Hollywood want it to be shown to gauge the market for when they do their own remake of it......so it should be shown here sometime.......soon I hope

I think thast was the initial thought babe but now big Hollywood big shots have completely put it on ice until the remake is made.....both films then will be released...... possibly as one set too

I've been looking round various sites....it's looking more and more that Hollywood have locked the movie down till they do the remake

If it's true, I think it's disgusting they're not letting people see the original first........after all, if it wasn't for the original then Hollywood wouldn't be able to do a remake

Maybe they're scared people will like the original the best and it would make more money than a remake?

Course, it could well be that Hollywood knows people are desperate to see it and they're deliberately making people wait

But I like the idea of them both possibly being on a boxset.......but I'd watch the original first and wait a few months before watching the remake

I personally think its a disgrace too..

....I do think your right and there is a sense of building up excitement about the film after the high favour the original got in the film festival run and it probably is clever marketing on the part of the Hollywood crowd remaking it

The only silver lining in all of this in my opinion is that they have the original director Peli is directing the remake also

The boxset with both would be good alright wouldn't it? I'm so gutted I can't see this movie at the moment

Didn't Peli say he'd be able to do more in the remake than he got to do originally? I hope the remake isn't too "big" so it loses the atmosphere of the original's more contained feel. With any luck, Dreamworks will give Peli free rein to do whatever he thinks will improve on his original film and the studio won't insist on doing everything their way.

I'd definitely buy the boxset

i prefer the grit and tension from a low budget fil - i see a flop on the cards for the remake

The only thing I can see being expanded on in any real substance is the back stories of the two characters before the events of the haunting..as I do think the remake will stay in the same vain as the original with the 'found tape' format ...perhaps he can throw in a few more sequences of strange happenings?? Being honest the more I think of it the more I feel they shouldn;t be bothering making a remake at all

It's all about Hollywood cashing in on a film that's been getting rave reviews. But Peli seems happy to do a remake....though I'd love to know what he really feels about his original film being locked down!

I think Peili was just happy to get the deal and you can't really blame him he's a small time director looking for his big break....he had to grab it with both hands

Yeah I can understand how it could be his big break in Hollywood but it's a shame his original film can't get full credit cause it's been pulled from distribution.....but at least people will be able to compare his original and the Hollywoodised version on a possible boxset

Oh this makes huge sense for both him and Hollywood.....because already there is the whole talk out there of this film being amazing and by the time we start seeing this remake there will be that much hype about it...I ust hope it lives up to expectations
