Emperor Morphetine

High Fidelity

I had to watch this for a 'Music & Film' module on my degree course this morning and I'll admit I quite enjoyed it. It's the story of Rob, a middle aged record shop owner who breaks up with his girlfriend, then goes on a quest to find out where it went wrong with her and all his previous conquests while working on his business.

Of course I had to keep an ear on the soundtrack, a mix of old and new which was interesting- my favourite cut being 'Everybody's Gonna Be Happy' by the Kinks. Narrative wise it's pretty standard romantic fare with some good comic moments (one liners etc)

Apparently it was adapted from a book by Nick Hornby, so I think I may have to try and track that down, it sounds like the sort of thing I'd enjoy.
Catnapper

It's one I haven't seen before, but from what you said Morphy it sounds quite good.....so I'll look out for it! For some strange reason I always think it stars Hugh Grant......maybe because of Nick Hornby's About A Boy!
