Hi Tech Fly on the Wall

THE ultimate fly on the wall is being developed — a cyborg insect that SPIES on humans.
An army of wired-up flies, moths and beetles is being created by scientists.
They are controlled by a microchip connected to microscopic wires so boffins can send them flying or crawling anywhere.
The project, Hybrid Insect Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems, is being funded by the US military — and was inspired by a sci-fi novel.
Chief researcher Dr Amit Lal hatched the plan after reading Thomas Easton’s book Sparrowhawk, in which birds are fitted with control implants.
The programme aims to create insects that fly 100 metres from a controller and land within five metres of a target.
A team from Ithaca, New York, put plastic probes into hawk moth pupae seven days before they hatched.
The insects’ bodies grew around the probes and researchers could control them like toy planes.
In a California programme electrodes were put into the brains of adult green June beetles near the brain cells that control flight.
The next stage involves trying to implant recording devices and microscopic cameras in beetles’ heads and transmitters and sound recorders inside moths and flies.

Thats it every fly is being killed that enters my house        Why does this kind of thing scare me
Catnapper

It's scary the things they come up with   the line between science fiction and science fact is getting more blurred by the minute. Are they're being used against terrorists?
Lucifer_666

Well thats what they are going to say to justify it babe ....by mentioning all the good uses it has....its the bad ones and when the technology will no doubt get abused that worries me and before you know it...its us being terrorised by these bugs
Catnapper

It's a case of insects really being bugs     It is pretty frightening how they keep coming up with this kind of technology and it makes me wonder what's going to happen next with this idea.......
lord vader

why don't they make a transporter , so i can transport everyone from work in to space ,   and watch them blow up   , then i could go home
Catnapper

That's a bit drastic Andy
Lucifer_666

Funny when you mentioned Transporter and us originally talking bugs I thought you wanted to turn somebody into a human fly Sta      you know like Jeff Goldblum
