Halo MovieRumours that Steven Spielberg is in negotiations to develop the proposed Halo movie have begun to circulate after a report appeared on an American film website.
According to IESB, the Indiana Jones producer expressed interest in the project after reading a script from screenwriter Stuart Beattie.
"This coupled with the fact that his Dreamworks umbrella is looking for a big tent pole to help launch their newly independent studio with distribution over at Walt Disney Pictures after losing Transformers to Paramount in the separation, it's the perfect combination."
Peter Jackson was originally attached to helm a movie based on the franchise, but the project collapsed because of "internal politics" at film studios Fox and Universal.
Two new games in the first-person shooter franchise are currently in development. Halo 3: ODST will retail on September 22, while Halo: Reach is scheduled for next autumn.

Part of me is inclined to think it'll follow in the footsteps of most game to film adaptations and fail, but the other less cynical side thinks it could be a great no-brainer action film.
