also up here at kitty's in kirkcaldy they have live bands every weeekend , and most of them are all up and coming , some no bad bands out there

Our influences are bit of a mixed bag so it could come out like a car crash.
We're influenced by: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Queen, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Thunder, Ac/Dc, Megadeth, Bon Jovi, Anthrax, Poison, and too many to list!

There's a lot of talented unsigned bands, and they won't get signed. Look at the talentless crap that does get signed and into the charts. Not mentioning any names as I know somebody on here likes one of the bands I have a major problem with and I don't wish to annoy them!

That's a pretty impressive list of musical influences you've got there Jip....in fact, you've listed most of my favourite bands! Oh...and I know which particular band you mean and I like them! 
You know Rod Glenn who's a poster on here? His brother's in a band and they had a single out a few months ago (I bought it!) but I don't think they're signed to a particular label 
Is it a gig where there'd be agents or record label scouts there?

Good luck mate....not that you'll need it I'm sure you'll be great.  ...Have you thought about making a website or blog for the band? Might be worth doing you know....get the word out there...you could even put the link to it up on your signature here if you wanted

Think we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves! Not thinking about doing a website and stuff until we get a few more gigs under us. No way are we thinking of getting signed yet!
It went off quite well apart from me snapping my strings half way through Hammer To Fall.

I can understand you wanting to perfect your sound first Jip cause it makes you more likely to be snapped up by a music scout.....which I hope happens soon for you
Your strings broke....shows how much effort you put into it! Do you tour Unis and Colleges?
It was me and Gellarbing you meant Jip cause I bet the band you said about was McFly........who are at no.8 in the album charts with Radio:Active if you want to buy their album

Can't see us getting signed up soon. WAY too early! We're just doing pubs at the moment to test the water, then progress onto clubs.
Yup fairplay Cat, it was you! I wouldn't buy it if you paid me! Anyways, Metallica were number 1 last week and Queen + Paul Rodgers were number 5 and Kings Of Leon are number 1 this week, so it shows that there are some real bands alive and kicking! You can keep your McNugget! I'm offended that they have tarnished the good name of one of my favorite films by using that name!

But I didn't buy the album Jip.....I got it free with a Sunday paper! Well, I had to buy the paper so technically it wasn't free....but you know what I mean!
Ooh Queen & Paul Rogers are brill....I've got a dvd of one of their shows I never thought they could replace Freddie Mercury but Paul Rodgers is excellent .....I've always liked Free's Alright Now so I was thrilled when he became Queen's lead singer.

It's a good album Cat. It's not a Queen album and not a Paul Rodgers album but a whole new entity, and a good one at that. Going to see them in November.
Getting the cd for free. Tsk tsk. If you were a fan you would have paid for it and gave them your money! Saying that, I did get Planet Earth by Prince for free in a paper. Saying that I don't buy Prince albums until I have heard them as they can be a bit shonky, so I was just safeguarding my wallet from potential crap!

I know what you mean about giving the band the money but unless they've added some more songs to the album in the shops, I wouldn't want to have 2 albums the same! If your band got a record deal and brought out an album though.......I'd go out and buy it

Cheers Cat! Hopefully they will be good. Saw them 3 years ago in Hyde Park. Just wondering what setlist they will have. Won't be the same at Wembley Arena though.
