That shows how much stranger truth is than fiction....if you hadn't already said it was a true story, I'd have said someone had made it up I've never seen the film....has it been on tv?
Scorpio

no it has'nt been on t.v catty - it is a shaky bit of film making (quite crap in parts) but is very spooky in parts

are you gonna give it a go?
Catnapper

Sometimes the acting's rubbish in Asian films......I've watched some of Jackie Chan's earlier ones (he wasn't rubbish, the other actors overacted most of the time!)

I'm actually tempted to buy this one Scorp because it sounds intriguing and I want to know how women wearing red on rainy days triggered the killer.
Scorpio

mmmmmm it is spooky when it actually recreates one of the attacks (i wont say much more, other than it is very atmospheric and spooky)

£7.99 is not an expensive gamble
Catnapper

Even better....it's £3.98 on Amazon
Scorpio

Scorpio

Catnapper

You've got me worried now....I bet it's a total gorefest!
Scorpio

no - not at all......it centres its story more on character building than gore - i cannot remember any to be honest

but creepy in one particular part
Catnapper

I looked at the comments on Amazon and someone's put about gruesome corpses but only the type you get on the Waking the Dead tv prog.......I've seen WTD so I should be ok then

Interesting film.......I wasn't too sure about it at first because the 2 bumbling detectives planting evidence, beating up suspects to try and force confessions out of them and the flying kung fu kicks looked a bit comedic at first! It felt as though the murders were taking a back seat and weren't being treated seriously. But, I think with foreign cinema, you have to look at things a different way than you do to Hollywood films......the director was getting across how the police were underfunded in Korea and weren't equipped to deal with a serial killer in a small rural area......the first serial killer in Korean history.

But the film still kept me gripped and wanting to see more........the final 1/4 of it had a more serious tone as the body count kept growing and they were hunting down a suspect.......and, by the end, I felt I'd watched a good, tense film that was very stylishly made too.
Scorpio

a fair review i think.....................did you find the scene where the girl gets jumped eerie?
Catnapper

Which scene Scorp....the one where she's walking to the factory? That scene was very atmospheric with the reed fields and the factory in the background.......and it gave an eerie feel...especially when he suddenly appeared out of nowhere
Scorpio

thats the one - with the torch scanning the fields
Catnapper

When I watched that scene I was willing her to run instead of just standing there!
