Festival season is almost upon us...I notice that pretty soon it'll be festival time again- Bestival, Reading & Leeds etc. While a few bands I like are playing one or more of them I can't find a real reason to go to any- although Faith No More reforming to play at Download this year will be pretty special, and the Pixies and Neil Young playing the same day at Bestival could well be tops. But having looked at the conditions for the previous few years when this time of year comes around, to an extent I think I'll be better off on the sofa with a cup of tea watching the coverage on BBC Three and Four, as usual!
Don't get me wrong, I love to go to gigs but something about a two or three day festival always puts me off- not the music, more the environment. It always looks like great fun but at the same time it must take a hell of a lot out of you to go to one of these things. Having said that I'd like to go one day just to see if I can hack it.....

Sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea...you party animal you Only kidding Morphy! Those festivals always look exciting but when it rains and there's mud for 3 days...it doesn't look as exciting then

Id've loved Woodstock- they got Jimi Hendrix and people who were actually half decent rather than the modern rubbish that masquerades as music.....

Now I can can hear Matthews Southern Comfort singing Woodstock in my mind now! Such a brilliant, atmospheric song that sums up Woodstock perfectly
