Burn After Reading

Osbourne Cox (John Malkovitch) quits his job as a CIA Analyst and decides to record his memoirs on a disc which accidently gets left at Hardbodies Gym. When Chad Feldheimer (Brad Pitt), a trainer at the gym, finds the disc, he thinks he's found some sensitive CIA files! Another fitness trainer, Linda Litzke (Francis McDormand) wants cosmetic surgery and says she and Chad can blackmail Cox to get some money.......and that sets in motion a chain of events that affects them, other people, the Russians and the CIA!

Thrown into the mix are Katie Cox (Tilda Swinton) who is Cox's wife and who just happens to be having an affair with Harry Pfarrer (George Clooney) who's a paranoid sexaholic!

It's a Coen Brothers film and one you'll either love or hate.......at times you wonder if it's a comedy or a drama cause there are funny moments then something serious and unexpected happens which some people didn't like......though it didn't affect the film for me! It's a frantic and funny film with lots of things going on all at the same time with the CIA in the middle of it all looking baffled

Brad Pitt is good......he plays a dork but manages to be sweet, innocent  and almost childlike! Clooney and the other cast are good too....but John Malkovitch is brilliant......he has the best lines, from sarcastic put downs to funny ranting and ravings   The scenes with The CIA Chief and one of his operatives are funny too......they know something's going on but can't make head nor tails of any of it

Good film but you have to concentrate to keep up with everything that's going on

Great review babe

It sounds a very good film I must see it now    Fantastic cast too

Thanks Luc

It's hard trying to explain the film cause it sounds as if it should be a slapstick, full on comedy...but it isn't   There are fun moments in it.....Pitt's airhead character for starters and Malkovitch's character getting more and more sarcastic and angry as the events escalate

It's almost like a farce....it starts with the disc and blackmail and events just keep escalating from then on in with misunderstandings galore! But at the same time, it's adult, so you get serious moments....at one point something happens and I thought it would be a comedy moment but it wasn't!

If you see it Luc.....look out for one scene involving a chair
