Emperor Morphetine

Bill Bryson

Anyone else a fan of his? I've read 'The Life And Times Of The Thunderbolt Kid', Notes From A Small Island', Neither Here Nor There', his biography of William Shakespeare, 'Notes From A Big Country' and I'm about to start on 'Down Under'.

He's primarily a travel writer but has written on various subjects. I like him because he's quite knowledgeable and has quite a dry, at times sarcastic wit.

I've read his Notes From a Small Island......it was a fun read. He's good at observing things in great detail and his love of Britain really shone through.

Yes, that's one of my favourites of his. And most of it's so true when you think about it!

I liked when he described London as being so big it starts 20 minutes after leaving Dover   It's probably even bigger since he lived here!

If you liked that you'll like 'Notes From A Big Country' and 'Down Under' for sure. I've read the the first and am currently reading the second.
