Bali Bull

I see that the bali Climate Change Conference has ended more or less on stalemate with the US, Canada and Japan opposed to any kind of targets being introduced (although they declare it as they always do in these kind of world conferences as some kind of success) and to be honest I don't really blame the US, Canada and Japan in a way...they give a few reasons on why they weren't keen and I have to say I agreed with them (which is not exactly a comfortable position for me to be in....agreeing with the American administration   ) One of the reasons mentioned was the scientific evidence which they think is not strong enough to warrant this huge shift and to risk their economies on, another was that these huge targets don't work and they cited the Kyoto targets that are never reached either by other countries, they also mentioned that they believe the best route to this is not by curtailing society and business into living a certain way but by advances in scientific research and I agree with that.. if indeed man-made emissions are the cause of climate change in the first which I must admit I'm seriously doubtful about now.
Apart from the wranglings of this I was watching the news as this article was been shown and they featured loads of these Environmentalists campaigning and speaking and dare I even say 'Preaching' ...it just hit me that these lot have become like a religion..... you either live the way they say you do or your morally wrong and we are all going to be damned...it also brought other thoughts back too does anyone remember in the 70's and 80's when many of these Environmentalists and Green crowds were saying we were heading into an ice age? It was crazy scaremongering  then and I believe its crazy scaremongering now ....These people like religion of old use fear as a weapon and its all about control

I must admit I've not been following the Climate Change Conference too much......I thought they'd reached some kind of policy for tackling Climate Change, especially when they finally got George Bush on board but when I could gather, they've only agreed to discuss it some more in the future!

Yeah thats all that was agreed babe  alright.....lets all discuss it again in two years     and of course they make it sound like its some kind of achievement
