Alcohol can make you live Longer

Read this on the BBC News site and I just thought I'd post it......just goes to show there is a new different research every two minutes and that we are bombarded with varied ones all the time

A little alcohol 'can be healthy'

Experts warned that over-indulgence could pose severe health risks
A little alcohol combined with a healthy active lifestyle may be the best recipe for a longer life.
A European Heart Journal study suggests the combination can cut the risk of heart disease.

A Danish team found people who led an active lifestyle were less prone to heart disease - but the risk was cut still further if they drank moderately.

However, UK experts warned people should not be encouraged to drink, as too much alcohol can be very damaging.

So lets all drink moderately to save the NHS

I'll drink to that....hic!!

Cheers

It's not that long ago the experts were saying red wine is good for your heart! They love coming up with this new research all the time   Drinking's ok if you do it in moderation and exercise too.....just not at the same time
Lucifer_666

They aren't even saying that in the UK now ..they are basically saying any drink is bad for you (even wine) while this new research completely blows that out of the water by saying it can in fact make you live longer

Its a new thing ...a new theory every day

I havent had a drink since new years eve as im trying to recover from an 8 day festive bender, seems like I will have to get drinking again now
Lucifer_666

Yep that festive bender may have just guaranteed you Red another year to your life now     God bless it ...everyone
Catnapper

An 8 day bender Red   it's a wonder you're still with us going off that latest research

If wine's so bad for you (now) then how come the experts said a while back about being like the French etc and letting kids have a few sips of wine so they get used to it and won't binge drink when they're older? These experts come out with conflicting theories all the time.

I caved in last night and drank a bottle of white wine, cant stand the stuff but it was the only thing in the house

Your right Cat they keep changing every two minutes....by the way did I mention here how over christmas it was reported on the news that now Dark chocolate is bad for you when it was always said it was good or at least the better option....this is just another example of this crazy media driven stats which conflict every second day.

I'm not really a big wine drinker at all...and now I don't know whether I'm extending or decreasing my life span because of it? Or is my worrying about it also decreasing or extending my lifespan?
lord vader

i don't  think they actually ken what there talking about , one minute it's bad for you the next it's good , MAKE YER BLOODY MIND UP .
Lucifer_666

I reckon the media need a story and so get in all these stats and researches to build their daily editions....in a way its lazy reporting and a result of 24 hour news
Scorpio
