A very surreal experience...I've just come out of what I can only describe as a very surreal experience! For my practical piece for a production module I'm taking I'm putting the finishing touches to a radio documentary on alternative music locally, and for something different I decided to try to make it all sound like a compilation record, and after being influenced to an extent by hip-hop and electronic music I got a DJ friend to play around with my voice and make up some 'beats' I could use throughout, and it sounds surprisingly good! I came out sounding like a middle class deadpan Chuck D, its very strange but hopefully it'll have the desired effect alongside all the band interviews etc that I've done. Tomorrow will be spent on campus in the university editing suite doing my best Phil Spector and editing it all into one coherent piece of work, but its been a real labour of love and I've thoroughly enjoyed it........

That must have been so cool and so strange too! If you apply for a job as a music journo could you use it as part of your cv, or does it become the property of your uni?

It was certainly strange but it came out sounding really good! And I'm not sure if I could use it as part of a portfolio- may have to look into that and find out, I'd certainly like to use it alongside my written pieces for various websites.

I hope you get to keep it....it could come in extremely useful when you go for interviews and could help you clinch a good job!

Well, all my assignments are in and my last exam's on June 12.

It'll be weird for you when you've finally finished all the hard graft at uni but you'll be free to do what you want afterwards!
