A good start.....I had my first day of lectures today and it was actually surprisingly good! The Fantasy module I'm taking is really interesting and its got me thinking for ideas for the first assessment, which is a presentation- I'm planning to look into notions of sexuality and the carnivalesque using Kiss (the rock band) as a case study.
Then tomorrow afternoon I have Identity In Contemporary Film which will hopefully prove to be as good, its been a decent start thus far!

I think it helps if you've got a subject that's really interesting because it fires your imagination and enthusiasm! Sexuality and the carnivalesque is a brilliant idea Morphy so good luck with that project

My second class seems interesting too- I had Identity In Contemporary American Film today and it raises a number of interesting points/questions- looks like it could be a good last term!

That sounds an intriguing class too....what exactly does it cover? At least you'll have had a very interesting last term Morphy!

It's basically looking at issues of representation in American cinema- minority groups etc.

I thought it meant something like that but I didn't want to say in case it meant something totally different 
Which is hardest Morphy - researching a subject (when the info isn't easily available), or putting what you find into words for an essay/dissertation?

Researching's OK provided I know what I'm looking for, its the putting what I find on paper that's difficult- I really struggle with structuring my essays but I'm usually pretty good at finding resources once I know what I need as the library on campus is quite well stocked. Its the actual process of starting writing and managing to focus on the questions at hand thats the tricky part!
