60 minute makeoverHi folks, how's everyone doing? Sorry that I haven't been posting stuff but I've been proper snowed under with work 'n stuff and haven't been able to find my arse with both hands of late. Hopefully I will be able to converse with you all very soon. Just thought I'd let you know That I just had my first TV job: 60 Minute Makeover. I was a design assistant along with a couple of other mates from college. The show will go out some time in October. It was great fun and I got fifty quid for it.
Anyhoo, I -hopefully- will talk to y'all later.

That's great news about the prog  What channel will it be on so we can look out for it? Actually, the prog's name rings a bell  ....is it fronted by someone who was in Brookside (can't think of her name at the mo)....or is it a totally different prog?

Yep Cat I think Claire Sweeney used to do it and she was on Brookie years ago but its a blonde one doing it now

The show will be screened sometime in October and I'm not sure if my name will be in the credits, I hope so. It's now hosted bt Teri Dwyer who used to be in Hollyoaks many moons ago and she's one of the hosts of loose women (I have to admit that I think all of these programs including the 60 minute makeover are utter crap, but don't tell them I said that). One of the other hosts was a guy called Craig who was the winner of the first ever big brother (he was one of the handymen) he was a lovely chap, really friendly and down to earth.
The actual makeover is done in 60 minutes (30 minutes to paint, lay carpets, fit electrics, remove/replace doors etc. and then 30 minutes to bring in all of the new furniture/fittings etc.). there is preparation beforehand such as moving bulky items/valuables out of the rooms and a bit of cleaning and mopping afterwards but for that 60 minutes it is absolute chaos.

I forgot to mention, when we all ran back into the house for the second 30 minutes, I slipped on some wet grass and did a spectacular comedy fall, but I don't think the camera caught it, phew!!

Oh Craig's the Liverpool guy who did makeover shows with Anna Ryder Richardson and Linda Baker! He does seem a nice guy from what I've seen of him.
How on earth do they paint and lay carpets???.....the carpets must either get paint splashed or stick to the painted skirting boards! I'll have a look out for that prog....if only to see if they screen your fall

Hopefully they didn't get your fall bud though it probably would be quality telly....you could end up on one of those "It shouldn't happen in a......" shows ...you know the ones where Neil Morrissey narrates
They do well to get it all done in that time frame I have to say...though there must be a hell of a lot of people that you don't see working away too I reckon??
And yep I remember Craig..he is a nice guy and yes Cat he did do those other shows with Anna Ryder Richardson and Linda Barker...in fairness to him he has kept himself in this kind of work since BB1 ended...fair dues to him

If they only have 60 minutes to do the transformation it must get very frantic! I bet they have people rushing round, getting in each other's way and spilling things.........it's a wonder Health and Safety don't stop the prog
