'Yellow Submarine' remakeIt has been rumoured today that Disney is in negotiations with Robert Zemeckis to produce a 3D remake of the animated 'Yellow Submarine' Beatles film, for release in around 2012. Talks are also underway with Apple to secure the rights to 16 Beatles tracks as well as a possible future spin-off Broadway musical similar to Cirque Du Soleil's 'Love' production.

He does seem to like them! I'm certainly curious about this one as its the only one of the Beatles films I've never seen, so I'm interested to see what becomes of this.

I would love to see Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr given at least small cameos, and of course John Lennon and George Harrison's contributions can't be forgotten either.

I'll have to look at my Yellow Submarine video again at this rate Will it be an animated feature again or be live action mixed with animation? Will it have the blue meanies in it too?!

From what I understand it'll be animated, I can't possibly imagine them getting live actors in to play the Beatles- it would just seem wrong! But I would guess the Blue Meanies will appear, yes.

It'll be interesting to see how it compares with the original. I hope Paul and Ringo get to be in it somehow
