'The Curse Of Frankenstein' (1957)I had to watch this for one of my degree modules at uni earlier in the week, and I thought it was more funny than scary! It's basically a Hammer Horror adaptation of Mary Shelley's story, with Peter Cushing as Dr Frankenstein and Christopher Lee as his monstrous creation.
From the Gothic title font to the almost camp look of the film I just couldn't help but stifle a few chuckles, as it all looked so dated! A friend and I had great fun taking the mickey out of it!
Although I can see it might have been deemed frightening at the time.

Yeah I know these films really are dated now aren't they but they are still great to me ..you just don't get films made like this anymore and there was no crowd better than Hammer for making them hopefully the new Hammer can recreate some of these old classics and make them more modern or with more stylish twists.
My favourite is still the one were Dracula, Wolfman and Frankenstein's monster meet well worth a look if you have never seen it

There was someone selling old horror movies at a recent carboot fair........I had a quick look - there were Bela Lugosi ones, Peter Cushing and old Hammer films. I meant to go back later and have a better look throgh them all........and I forgot With any luck he'll be there this weekend!

You should babe....some of them are great....yep they are dated but if nothing else, as Morphy says, you can get a good laugh out of them seeing how badly done they are... and even some of the acting back then was very laughable

I'd actually like to see more Hammer films just to find out if they're all like that- are there any box sets available?
