|

Director Jon Favreau (Iron Man) spoke to MTV News, stating that Marvel's "Avengers" movie is "a great idea," and that he might like to direct it. Unfortunately, even if Favreau ends up in the helmer's chair, he might still have to wait a long time before shooting can begin.
Unlike how Warner Brothers is handling the "Justice League of America" movie - where audiences are being asked to accept different actors for Batman and Superman, as well as a whole legion of new characters like Green Lantern and Flash - Favreau insists that Marvel will only go ahead with the Avengers project if and when all the individual characters get their own story.
"[But] in the case of Marvel they're pretty clear on wanting to do it with the actors who've established the roles or to not do it at all. That's what they've said to me," he continued. "I think it's a good idea if you use the characters established in the other franchises that then come together for an event."
It'll be worth the wait, Favreau claimed, calling this way not only more impressive and formidable – but more consistent as well. "I wonder if the tone of 'The Incredible Hulk' is going to be similar or different than [Iron Man]," Favreau questioned. "And 'Captain America' is a twinkle in Marvel's eye right now. And 'Thor' and 'Ant Man.'"
The problem is it will be a long wait now unfortunately though at least we will have the individual films to look forward to first

William Hurt speaks about his appearance in both Iron Man and The Hulk...I don't know if this has anything to do with the links for the future Avengers project but it definitely ads to the whole thing....Anyway here is what he said....
SPOILERS AHEAD - "There’s a scene, and during that scene there are a number of things happening. [Hulk] has beaten Abomination, and then there’s a crowd that gathers around, and they realize that he’s beaten Abomination. That Abomination was the one who was killing for just the joy of killing; Hulk is not the one. It’s the moment of turn, when society’s relationship with Hulk stops being so stupid."
He claims this Hulk is "stylistically very different" from Ang Lee's 2003 effort, and the script deals "with the fact that [Banner’s] conscience still exists in a body that is a manifestation of power and is greater than his own ability to control it — and how he’s learning that relationship. Because that’s what’s happening to us. That’s the central metaphor for all of us, that we’re learning these powers — technological powers, whatever — that we don’t know if we have enough conscience to control in a wise way yet. And that’s what he’s doing."
Finally he also spoke about the Iron Man cameo in the project - "I have a scene with Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr. It’s a funky scene. I don’t know how it’ll work. I know it’s weird [to work with a character from another movie], and to know it’s a device. We did something; I don’t know what that’s going to be like [to watch]."
