|
|
In late 2006 came word that Paramount Pictures was planning to continue its successful Jack Ryan action franchise with a fifth film that would not be based on one of Tom Clancy's books.
Apparently acclaimed young actor Ryan Gosling will be playing character Jack Ryan. Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck played him in four highly successful thrillers from 1990-2002 including "The Hunt for Red October," "Patriot Games," "Clear and Present Danger" and "The Sum of All Fears."
He might be good but he wouldn't have been my first choice now

| I wouldn't have thought of him either Luc.......he seems a little too young after Harrison Ford and Alec Baldwin. But I see Ben Affleck was only about 30 when he played Jack Ryan.........maybe they're rebooting the franchise with a younger actor? |

My thoughts too ...he seems very young looking...I was never a huge fan of the character anyway to be honest...and didn't think it would generate that much interest to regenerate or revamp Jack Ryan After all its not Bond _________________

| It could be they've seen how successful The Bourne franchise was and now that's supposed to be over with (unless Matt Damon changes his mind about it) maybe they want Jack Ryan to be the next big success. With a younger actor playing the part they could make a few films. |

Perhaps Cat but I always thought that Bourne was a much more popular and dynamic character than Ryan was...or maybe that is just my perception of things?? Maybe it will be a success...I wonder will he be still married with kids though and what way will his career be? Is this going back in time to when Ryan was a younger man literally? _________________

I like all the other films too Andy Even Sean Connery with his Scots/Russian accent
If it's not based on a Tom Clancy book Luc then it's possible it could be set before he got married.......and they could make it as action packed as the Bourne films. That's something to look forward too |
