I got these two collections of John Lennon's surreal writings- stories, poems etc, and illustrations- for my birthday a while back and have only really started delving into them now. It's all quite odd but clearly he had a twisted and sometimes controversial sense of humour! Plus there's plenty of surrealism, as you'd expect from the man who wrote the likes of ' I Am The Walrus'. And on this evidence I suspect he might've had a decent career as a novelist or poet had rock and roll not intervened.......
