Rules of Attraction star Clifton Collins has been announced to play the sidekick of Nero (Eric Bana) in Star Trek XI.

I didn't know who he was either!

Yeah it's a mixed bag of actors alright.......let's hope it all comes together and it's a brilliant movie

Oh I still have very high hopes about the film...I think its going to be great no matter who is in it....I'm just a little confused at the casting thats all

I think it's better to have unknowns where ST is concerned, people have fairly fixed ideas about what they expect seeing as they are known characters albeit younger versions. I think even the new characters would be distracting if played by well known actors. I suppose they will want to attract non trek fans too though.

Part of me wishes they'd had unknown actors for all of the main roles because I'll be thinking that's Sylar from Heroes or Simon Pegg from Hot Fuzz

They're good actors though so hopefully I'll believe they're Spock and Scotty!

If it's a hit then we could have more movies

Why what film is Simon Pegg in at the moment Honey? I think that its a certainty that kids will be much of the target audience I'm afraid
