I've done it! I've actually watched Star Wars A New Hope!

I've only ever seen bits of it on tv cause I'm more for Star Trek than SW.......so I thought it was about time I saw it!

It still doesn't grab me as much as ST does but I can understand how exciting it must have been to first see it all those years ago. The thing that strikes me is how young Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill all look

What I want to know though is how come they used so many British actors?

Well done Cat! I think it grabbed so many people's imagination because it was ground breaking at the time and is a classic story of good v. evil.

I reckon they used so many Brits because they were cheaper I think also some of it was filmed at English studios

Yeah well done Babe.....don't judge it though on that one movie because A New Hope is really only, in my opinion, the film that introduces you to the main characters, the struggle and the universe.....Its really in the next film 'Empire Strikes Back' that the core story is told and the other main characters are revealed...its also darker and much better...Its much more fantasy and fairytale like then Star Trek

As for British actors I'd say your right K they were cheaper also it was the in thing at the time....still is sort of....to have English bad guys in Hollywood movies

I can't believe you've never watched the films before! At least I watched a lot of Star Trek before I started criticising it
