I finally got round to reading a Star Wars novel the other day. This one was called Cloak Of Deception, and its set just before Episode 1 as Darth Sidious forges an alliance with the Trade Federation and political intrigue begins to open out through the galaxy as the Jedi Council sends Master Qui Gon Jinn and his apprentice Obi Wan Kenobi to investigate the threat. Throw into the mix some Republic space pirates and it's a cracking read. The seeds are sown for what happens in Episode 1 and you get an insight into what motivates Sidious and the Trade Federation viceroys- greed and power. If you're a mad keen fan I'd recommend it.

I am a fan of Star Wars bud and would probably be interested in reading the outline of the plot but not enough interest in me to read the entire thing as I really found the prequels wanting big time

Well there are more stories set in the timeline of Episodes 4-6 and even a 'New Jedi Order' collection set in the future as Luke Skywalker becomes a Jedi master and builds a new Republic.

I haven't read alot of these books but I do know alot of the characters and plots from them...I know there is a load of Jedi kids from the skywalker line ...there is another set of twins too and a future love interest for Luke though you probably know all about them yourself without me telling you

If the love interest's Mara Jade then yes, can't remember the kids names though!

the kids are Jacen and Jaina (twins) and Anakin Solo and then Luke's kid is Ben Skywalker

Jacen I know turns to the dark side and becomes Darth Caedus

Doesn't Luke also briefly turn to the Dark Side as well later on? I know Leia marries Han Solo but I've not read any of the extended universe books as yet.

Yeah he does but you discover that he only does it to get close to the main Sith Lord or to find out the secrets of the Dark side in order to defeat it and he converts back after a short time

I have only read a few ...I kept up by reading the plots online...they do appear good though
