Finally finished reading this last night, it's really good! It's a biography of Sir Paul McCartney by Barry Miles, with collaborative input from the man himself. Starting from his childhood in Liverpool it goes on to talk about his efforts to make it in music, the formation of The Beatles, his relationship with Jane Asher, the rapid popularity of the Fab Four and the associated albums, and then to the end of the Beatles and his marriage to Linda. A must if you're a Beatles nut, as this explores a lot of the myths about them as well as the truth behind the Lennon-McCartney partnership and the working relationships with George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

| That sounds like a good read! I'd love to see him do another book about his marriage to Heather and what really went on behind the scenes and also the music he's doing lately as The Fireman.....I want to know exactly how all that came about! |

It is a good one, puts straight all the myths about the Beatles and gives you insight from someone who was at the forefront of it all which makes for a more interesting story.

Yeah, he seems pretty sound about most things, although it does get a bit bitchy at times but he's entitled to whinge....

He saves most of his wrath for the way the Beatles just dissolved after 'Let It Be' was released, he seems really hurt by John, George and Ringo as everything begins to go wrong.
