This is a real awww story from today's paper

A mother duck and her 6 ducklings were out walking when the ducklings fell down an underground access to a sewer and were swept away. The mother couldn't fit down the access so she set off on an epic 2 mile chase across busy roads, a housing estate and a railway line listening out for their quacking.

When they finally stopped under a manhole she sat quacking loudly for at least 4 hours until passersby lifted up the manhole cover and rescued her ducklings

Northumbria Water staff used a laptop to work out the route the ducklings had taken......under 2 schools, a sports field, a hospital and an estate before ending up under the manhole cover.

After they were rescued both mother and ducklings were taken to a lake and let go.

The poor duckie wuckies Awwwwwwwwwwww though the mother did well to keep a track of them
