Though a little disappointed about Shatner now

though if it was stretching the realms of possibility they were right to not have him in it ......I really hope this film does exactly what it says on the tin now and reboosts the francise again

It certainly sounds like Shatner won't be in it unless they have a drastic rethink in the meantime? If anything, it's geared more towards Spock........but it looks set to be the summer blockbuster of 2009

Yep its definitely looking like a Spock lead thing alright which I suppose is good but is still slightly disappointing about Shatner....oh welll .....roll on Summer 09

J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot has been filming in Bakersfield, in a farm that's supposed to look like Iowa — presumably where Kirk grew up. And here's some video of the filming, which shows a 1960s Corvette, which seems to have a woman and a boy (young Kirk?) driving

Don't get too excited now its nothing very revealing but I just thought I'd add it

Seriously though, that's an intriguing bit of footage......why does the car look smashed up at the front and why were they sweeping the road?

I was thinking that myself too Cat...it does point to a crash.....perhaps the Romulans are going to do a Terminator job and go after Kirk when he was just a boy on a family outing or perhaps we're going to just find out more about Kirk's family life and perhaps there was an car accident in his past???

I like the idea of the Romulans going after a younger Kirk but, like you say Luc, it's like The Terminator, so I don't think Trek would copy that idea.

Well it is already partially copying from Terminator because we already have a fair idea that it is about the Romulans going back in time to some point to kill Kirk.....I just didn't realise it would be with him so young or perhaps it is just a think back thing

Some more bits of info....there'll be Orion girls and Tribbles in it too!

And Greg Grunberg said this recently..."You will see some great cameos. You'll never know who the people are but they are all fans of the show and called up JJ asking to be in the movie. They were monster celebrities from all over and he's put them all in disguises and put them into the movie."

Should be fun guessing the celebrities
