I've just finished reading this and really enjoyed it. It's a real insight into the influences and creative processes that helped Brian Wilson both in his work with the Beach Boys and as a record producer for other artists, as well as providing some information about him as a person and what makes him tick. As a result I now have an increased appreciation of the Beach Boys- I liked them anyway but now I can see just how influential they've been down the years!

You're a prolific reader Morphy...how many books do you get through in a week?!
I love the Beach Boys sound....I Get Around and California Girls always make me think of summer! I get confused with the group members though...was Brian Wilson the one who had a nervous breakdown? |

He was indeed, though he's OK now. My favourites of theirs are I Get Around, All Summer Long, Fun Fun Fun and Wouldn't It Be Nice?

Does the book go into all the arguments the Beach Boys had...or does it just concentrate on the music? |
