Fair dues to her    I hate these big crowds that think they can throw money at anything and literally do what they like to normal joe soaps out there....here in Ireland the Government are as bad with stuff like this and it wasn't that long ago when a load of small farmers were being arrested and imprisoned because they wouldn't give up their land for roads and stuff    Its crazy

They actually did that in Ireland   It's scary how people can force you off your land like that.......I bet they don't even give them the full price for their properties   How would these big bosses and MPs like it if the same thing happened to them? It's always the little people it happens too.

Wouldn't it be funny though if the granny won her case?!

If she did it'd be a legal landmark, and big businesses will no doubt have sat u and taken notice of this case. I hope she does get somewhere with it, its just not fair to force people out of their houses for the sake of big bucks ( and don't Tesco have enough UK shops anyway?)

Oh one thing about Ireland in the last few years is if your in the building/construction trade the Government will bend over backwards to please you...sure thats partly why Bertie Ahern had to step down there last week because there is a big investigation ongoing going back years to do with backhanders from big business crowds in order to get planning permission....its crazy here!! Ireland is a weird place when it comes to politicians.....its not like the UK...alot of the the public are very much under the mind set that sure all politicians are up to stuff like this so whats the big deal and its almost no big deal at all ....I be  pulling my hair out (whats left   ) when I hear people talk here.......

I see Tescos have said it'll create 350 jobs for the long term unemployed in Liverpool........let's see if they actually keep to that promise

The truth is, that money talks......so big businesses will always get their own way. People who say they support the new Everton stadium being built in Kirby and want the new Tesco's store and 50 unit retail park being built won't live in the homes being demolished to make way for them. It's easy supporting these big schemes when you're not the ones being affected.

I've wondered about backhanders Luc and you've proved it does go on, especially in Ireland. There'll always be corrupt people and there'll always be big businesses willing to pay backhanders.

Yeah its the need of the many outweighing those of the few argument again...and big business are experts at utilising that old gem when needed   and the funny part is in  ten years time if Tesco aren't making enough money they will move and not give the people put out there years before a second thought....

Oh yeah the celtic tiger brought with it great prosperty for certain groups here but it also brought lots of corruption and a real kind of arrogance you could say...people definitely changed here....I remember when things weren't great years ago you could go into a electrical goods store and the person behind the counter would be licking your arse to try and get you to part with your money the last few years there...they couldn't give a damn you were just another pleb   Perhaps that just happens when the economy is good....though people are getting worried now......prices of houses are going down here now too

What happens to all the people who get thrown out of their houses? How can Tesco, or any other business,  compensate someone for losing their house, their friends and neighbours and a whole community? All these businesses see are pound signs and how much more money they can get.......it's about time their stranglehold on the public was broken.

You could be right about the economy there Luc.....if it took a turn for the worse, you can bet the shopkeepers would soon be after your custom again.

Well these big business would probably give them the standard rate for their properties so to them they probably say go buy a house elsewhere...but what about all the trouble of moving and then as you say maybe these people have lived there all their lives and know all their neighbours and stuff...I think its also the principle of the thing I hate people who think they can throw money at people and do what they like no matter who is put out...

Its looking like the economy is going to head into a bad time for the next while so it could very well happen babe
