I seen this movie 'Elf' last night and have to say I thought it was very funny particularly the bits at the beginning where Will Ferrell's character Buddy is living as an elf in the North Pole
The plot centres around Buddy a human baby who ends up being raised by one of the elves (Bob Newhart) after Santa unknowingly takes him home in his toy sack one Christmas Eve from the Orphanage. Of course a human gets a lot bigger than an elf which leads to some hilarious moments...I particularly loved the scenes with a tiny Newhart and a massive Buddy sitting on his knee or Newhart on Buddy's back while he is teaching him how to ride a bike   .
Buddy though comes to realise (after 30 years lol) that he is not like the other Elves and finally hears the truth that he's human, that his father lives in New York....and that his Pop is on the naughty list too    Nevertheless he heads to meet him. James Caan plays the annoyed Dad who slowly comes to realise the true meaning of Christmas with Ferrell's help and he does play the part quite well too..
There is also a pretty good cast aswell....Edward Asner, Mary Steenburgen, Zooey Deschanel, Michael Lerner and Faizon Love but its Ferrell's performance that really steals the show and you find yourself wanting to see more of him in certain scenes where he is absent.
Definitely a good Xmassy film that will now go down on my list of festive films to watch every year....
Oh and remember...... "This holiday, discover your inner elf."

I loved when he made decorations for the Toy Department in his dad's store   The part that made me laugh out loud was that snowball fight with the bullies.....very funny!

I loved the snowball fight myself...and that poor kid at the end running and he knocks him down with a long throw
