I read in today's paper that Disney is buying Marvel Entertainment in a deal worth $4 billion. It means that Disney will own the rights to the likes of Spiderman and the X-Men- the boards of both companies have approved the move but under US law it now needs the backing of Marvel's shareholders and US authorities.
"We believe that adding Marvel to Disney's unique portfolio of brands provides significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation," Disney president and chief executive Robert Iger said.
"We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney." he added. "
Disney is the perfect home for Marvel's fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses," said Marvel chief executive Ike Perlmutter. Business analysts are calling it a good deal all round but it raises the question of whether they'll now make godawful Marvel/Disney crossover movies.......

 what a strange partnership....perhaps in future Marvel hero films they will all of a sudden burst into song with little blue birds flying around

It would, and I'd hate to see Disney ruin Marvel's image, really I would.

i think Disney won't really interfere ....well i hope not now
