Derek Mears ("The Hills Have Eyes 2") will reportedly play Jason Voorhees in New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes' remake of "Friday the 13th" says Bloody Disgusting.
Ken Kirzinger last suited up and strapped on the Voorhees hockey mask in "Freddy vs. Jason".
Jared Padalecki ("Supernatural") was cast last week as the male lead.
Marcus Nispel helms from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.
A February 13th 2009 release is set.
I don't know how Padalecki is going to be able to take on Jason without Jansen Ackles?

I just read this about a new casting for this remake....

Nana Visitor's role doesn't look so big so I'm surprised she took it on......but it's a job I suppose!
Will it be a straight to DVD movie Luc? |

I guess she's like Dom babe  If the work is there she'll take it
I doubt it Cat...I'd imagine they will want to put it through the cinema as it is a revamped remake so I reckon it will be in the same vais as the Halloween remake

Well you never know...it could lead to more work and it brings the money in!
Yeah it should be in the cinemas Luc......I got mixed up thinking it was a sequel (which probably would go straight to DVD) when it's actually a remake  |
