They've given it 4 stars meaning it's very good! There aren't any spoilers....we still don't know what the monster is....but it's still a good indicator of the feel of the film.

It wasn't the title, it was the original American release date. At the time that trailer went online and in cinemas, it was just called "Untitled JJ Abrams Project". No title was shown on the original trailer, just that date flashed up. In a way it was good, due to the lack of a title it made people think "I want to find out what that means". Very clever man, is our JJ. I agree I can't wait for it to come out. It has been on my top 10 must see, since I saw the first trailer. _________________ "Say, would you like a chocolate covered pretzel?" |

It definitely looks the business and yep JJ is clever ..it was real smart marketing and then you add the whole extra plugging of the fictional japanese drink Slusho which features in Cloverfield aswell which also addded even more mystery _________________

I managed to see this a little early (ask no questions and I'll tell no lies! )...
Well it's certainly tense, gritty and edge of the seat stuff. It's what Godzilla should've been like (although I still liked Godzilla). The characters are believable - they start off as a bunch of fairly irritating socialites, but as they are literally thrown from one terrifying scene to another you quickly begin to feel for them. The really good thing about the film is that it is what is not shown that makes everything more scary. You catch glimpses mostly - there's only two scenes where you really get a good look at the monster.
The special effects are second to none and the use of the hand held camera works brilliantly to make you believe you're actually in the thick of the action (although at times you can almost start to feel ill with it all!)
Overall a damn good film and I will certainly be seeing it in the cinema too to catch the whole cinematic experience. _________________ We're on an express elavator to Hell...going down!
