Did any of you watch this on Sunday?.....I thought it was great...very funny
Justin Lee Collins attempts to reunite the stars of the original Star Wars trilogy. He was unsurprisingly unable to get a meeting with Harrison Ford (Han Solo). He was offered an interview with Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), albeit for the price of $50,000; after raising several thousand dollars, Collins was unable to negotiate the price any lower, and was forced to abandon any hopes of meeting Hamill. (I was surprised at this)
Collins did, however, succeed in securing interviews, through a combination of deception and surprise attacks, with the following people:
Carrie Fisher - Princess Leia (I still love this woman...she is extremely funny)
Anthony Daniels - C-3PO
Kenny Baker - R2-D2
Peter Mayhew - Chewbacca
Jeremy Bulloch - Boba Fett
David Prowse - Darth Vader
Billy Dee Williams - Lando Calrissian
Warwick Davis - Wicket
The most shocking piece of info from this show was to discover that Daniels and Baker (R2D2 and C3PO) hated one another in real life and literally Baker wouldn't attend the party if he though Daniels was going to be there....it did sound like Daniels was a bit of a plonker and thought he was above all the rest ( a so called 'real actor')
I also laughed at Carrie Fisher showing Collins a 3d model of herself in the gold slave bikini and from the back you can see her bare behind and the top part you can tak off revealing her boobs...and this was a present from George Lucas to her
Ahhhhhhhhhh
Oh with all that Leia goodness I almost forgot to mention that Collins is now working on..... Bring Back....Fame
Also in production is .....Bring Back Star Trek

Fame and Star Trek......excellent Though I can't see him getting William Shatner and the others in the same room!
Carrie Fisher was so cool....what a nice woman I'd heard about Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels despising each other before but I thought they might have made up by now ....Peter Mayhew said they'd have made a great double act and would have made a fortune doing appearances.....it's a shame they still detest each other. When JLC was talking to Anthony Daniels, I kept thinking AD was just like Kenneth Williams....all snobby and luvvie like!
It's a shame about Mark Hamill not wanting to get involved......he's shut himself off from Star Wars when he should embrace it, go to the cons, meet the fans and see how much he's loved. It could open up other opportunities for him too.....maybe more films if people see he's back in the limelight? |

Yeah Shatner may be a problem..though I think Nimoy may be trouble to get now too with the whole new film at the moment
Yeah he would remind you alright of Kenneth Williams...though I don't think Williams would have been so rude to Baker as he was supposedly was...it was a pity for them because Mayhew was right they would have mde a mint as a double act
I was surprised about Mark Hamill I have to say because as far as I knew he does do the Star Wars conventions and circuits...he hasn't shut himself off but he obviously demands alot of money for it...not that he needs it....the guy is worth a fortune...he's a co writer of a famous super hero comic book in the States called The Black Pearl....there is a film being made too its just been announced _________________

That's excellent news about Mark Hamill's Black Pearl comic book and the proposed film I got the impression from the SW prog that he was almost reclusive, shunned anything to do with SW and was jealous of Harrison Ford's career. I looked at his imdb profile and he's done lots of work since SW........mainly voiceovers rather than films though I know voiceover work is very lucrative so maybe that's what he's concentrating on now.....behind the scenes work? |

I know he's in Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back, as is Carrie Fisher, and he was also in an episode of The Simpsons if I remember rightly. But he's not been involved with Star Wars for a long while- I was hoping he'd be given a cameo of some sort in the Clone Wars animated film- but only Christopher Lee and Anthony Daniels from the real cast were involved with it. _________________ The Dark Side is a pathway to many abilities, some considered to be..unnatural. |

I loved this programme. I thought it was the most successful of this series, because JLC got so many of the actors to come to the party- 5 or 6?
I think poor old Anthony Daniels was suffering from mistreatment on set, I also think he was in the closet at the time and didn't want to be 'outed' [like Kenneth Williams- good comparision Cat ] which may be why he was so elusive. But Kenny Baker did seem like the nicer person. Who knows what went on
Peter Mayhew didn't seem in good health, did he?
I would have loved to see Mark Hamill- you can see Harrison Ford anytime, but not 'the one who is Luke'.
I think it would be fun to have Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill with their 'parents' Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen
But all in all, a brilliant programme
Did you know that Jeremy Bulloch was also in Robin of Sherwood, another of my favourite things? [no... really? ]
Carlos said that what Mark Hamill should have done after Star Wars was play that resistance bloke in The Terminator- Kyle or something? That would have been the perfect part for him |

Its weird that you don't really hear about most of them any more isn't it? You'd have thought they'd been offered more roles off the back of what was a successful series.....
