Did anyone read this?.....

Uncertain future set for Batman

Batman fans are set to discover whether the Caped Crusader is going to be killed off in his latest comic issue.

Batman RIP will see "the end of Bruce Wayne as Batman", the comic's Scottish writer Grant Morrison has revealed to avid readers.

There are rumours Bruce Wayne may either retire from his duties or be killed by a mystery villain known as the Black Glove.

His fate will be revealed when the comic is published on 26 November.

Either way, Wayne's demise will lead to a hunt for a new replacement Batman to take on the cape.

"What I am doing is a fate worse than death - things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all," Morrison said in the recent interview with Comic Book Resources.

He would not reveal who would be the new Batman, but the frontrunners include Tim Drake who has been Robin since 1991 and Dick Grayson - the original Boy Wonder - who now protects Gotham City as Nightwing.

It is not the first time a superhero has met an unfortunate end in the comic world.

Last year, Captain America was killed after being shot by a sniper in New York.

Superman's death in 1992 at the hands of Doomsday became the biggest selling Superman comic in history. He was later resurrected.

"Using science which we mere mortals cannot even understand, the Eradicator put Superman in a Kryptonian rejuvenation matrix that massaged him back to life," said DC Comics editor Mike Carlin, explaining the hero's return.

I think i would like to see Nightwing (Grayson) inherit the Dark Knight mantle...though perhaps they could have both Drake and Grayson as Batmen

 Its possible you know

I wouldn't worry too much they are always changing and killing characters off and then bringing them back in some way or just revamping and not explaining anything...i had an old batman annual years ago that had a factfile of Bats and it went into his later years and death which was completely different to this now
