Tagline: Every year, one in 700 people wakes up during surgery. When they planned her husband's murder, they never thought he'd be the one

Starring Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, Lena Olin, Terrence Howard, Fisher Stevens

The story focuses on a man (Christensen) who suffers "Anesthetic Awareness" (An occurrence where during surgery where not enough anesthetic medication for the patient's body weight), and finds himself awake and aware,of the cutting and pain (yikes) but paralyzed, during heart surgery. His wife (Alba) must wrestle with her own demons as a drama unfolds around them

I think this might be quite good even if it does have boring Anakin Skywalker in it

Its set for release on the 29th of Feb 2008

That looks a right load of pants!! I can't stand those kind of dream/looking back sequences which that film looks to be full of. Total poo!

Is it a story where their marriage is on the rocks and they both look back over events as he's having surgery? If so, a lot depends on the writing and acting quality whether you're drawn to, or even care about the characters!

It must be scary being awake during an operation though

I think that would be my worst nightmare Cat, imagine feeling someone operating on you and not being able to move or even scream!! I remember seeing on a programme about someone who it happened to more than once and they had developed this way of letting them know if he was awake by tieing a tournaquet round his arm so that the meds couldn't reach his hand. Then if he was awake he would be able to move his hand and let them know. I think I'd pay to have that done if I needed an operation!!

It's the stuff of nightmares Honey   It must be terrible happening once....never mind a few times   You'd think there'd be a way of checking if someone's awake or not.......with all the monitoring equipment they've got it should show up as a quicker heartbeat, sweat, larger eye pupils or something!

Did anyone watch the trailer or read what I wrote? No its not a think back thing or a marriage on the rocks story
Its about a guy who is a multi Millionaire who goes to get heart surgery but is not given enough anesthetic and so ends up still awake and able to feel pain but unable to move to tell anyone ....which is scary enough... but then he hears the surgeons planning to kill him for money during this process thinking he is out for the count (one of the surgeons is a friend of his) it begins a whole conspiracy thing where he has to convince his wife he's not just simply nuts or dreaming.

I watched the trailer and assumed the bits you saw were his thoughts, apart from the surgeons talking and that. I thought the whole film he was under the knife and they were going to murder him during the operation. Still looked pants. lol

I'm going to kill Sta

No Honey I think that is just part of the film...it then shows after the op and he's trying to convince the wife and finding out more about whose behind the conspiracy to kill him (though I reckon the Mother could be involved )
